Evolution of the Executive Board
   
Patrick Seghin will join Damartex on October 1st. On that same day he will take office of President of the Executive Board, a position assumed by Jacques Taccoen since Thierry Daignes left in July.

Aged 44, Patrick Seghin, a Belgian national, is a graduate from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium).

He started his career in 1990 in the Retail Division of the Shell Group. He successfully converted and developed the retail distribution activities of the non-fuel products. His career path took him from Brussels to Budapest then London where he was in charge of European Marketing.

In 2000 he joined Staples, worldwide leader in office supplies distribution, as Vice President International Marketing responsible for a multi-country and multi-channel activity. In 2003 he took over the General Management of the Retail Division in Germany where he carried through the recovery redefining the shops “business model”.

Since 2005 Patrick Seghin has been President of the Catalogue Business which covers both mail-order and internet for Staples Europe (14 countries - Annual sales of 640 mil. €). Capitalizing on synergies between traditional mail-order and the opportunities created through internet and strengthening the organisation’s focus and culture on the customer, he has revived its growth and improved its profitability.

Knowledgeable with the management of operational entities in a European and international environment Patrick Seghin will bring to Damartex his long and successful distribution experience and his know-how in strategic and operational multi-channel and brands management.
